The Kentucky Opry in Draffensville presents what they call "Fierce Bluegrass" with acclaimed fiddler Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper.

They play live in concert Friday, January 23 at 7:30pm. 

Kate Lochte speaks with Cleveland about playing the Kentucky Opry, his many awards and nominations, bluegrass artists he looks up to and upcoming projects.

Bluegrass Grammy Nominee James King Plays Draffenville

This year's Grammy nominations for Best Bluegrass Album include "Three Chords and the Truth" along with projects by The Boxcars, Dailey & Vincent, Della Mae, and Del McCoury Band. Writing for the CD release of "Three Chords and the Truth," Randy Pitts recalls hearing James King for the first time in 1992 in Owensboro and describes him as a "stocky ex-Marine whose voice bowled me over." Bluegrass Benefit for Tony Williams

There’s a Bluegrass Benefit Friday night, November 1.  A life-threatening infection put Jackson Purchase Friends of Bluegrass’s Tony Williams in Vanderbilt hospital for a month and a half.  Tony’s home and better now.   His award-winning guitarist and vocalist son Josh Williams dropped in on Music from the Front Porch with Mark Welch last Saturday to talk about the benefit.
