Kentucky has achieved a milestone of economic health with statewide employment levels back up above the peak levels of 2007 and 2008, which were before the recession. That’s according to a new study by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.


A new Kentucky Chamber of Commerce report shows the Commonwealth doing better than the country in some areas of economic recovery since the 2007 recession.

The report uses wage and employment data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.


A new report from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce finds the commonwealth has added a lower percentage of jobs than the United States as a whole in the years following the most recent recession.

A panel of Kentucky lawmakers is criticizing an Environmental Protection Agency proposal to limit carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants

Members of the Interim Joint Committee on Natural Resources and the Environment targeted the regulations Thursday which will require a nationwide 30 percent reduction in the gas that climate scientist say contribute to climate change.


The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has found that Kentucky’s job growth is surpassing the national average since the bottom of the 2008-2009 recession, though the Purchase Area has not followed Kentucky’s trend.

Ky. Chamber Pleased with Education Funding Increase

Despite the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s disappointment with Gov. Steve Beshear’s decision to veto the public-private partnerships bill last month, Chamber president David Adkisson says the legislature passed a responsible budget.

During the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast Thursday morning, Adkisson emphasized the improvements to education funding in the budget.  

Kentucky Chamber of Commerce officials have selected the Murray-Calloway Chamber President and CEO  to serve on the board of directors of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives Association.

Aaron Dail will serve a three-year term, beginning this October.

Kentucky lawmakers are being urged by a coalition of powerful health care and business groups to revamp the state's medical malpractice system. 

The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has released a report detailing the state’s economic recovery following the 2007 recession.

The study, conducted by the Chamber’s Senior Economic Advisor Dr. Paul Coomes, looks at data from local fiscal reports and federal databases covering wage and salary growth, job growth and housing market indicators. 

At  a legislative event hosted by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the divisive issue of charter schools and parent choice took center stage.

As one of eight states without charter school legislation on its books, the debate in Kentucky is only getting louder as the January session of the General Assembly draws closer.
