The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge is down to one lane today as road crews work to pour concrete for the new Kentucky Lake Bridge.

The closure begins at 10 A.M. and is expected to last about 10 hours.

UPDATE: Monday (12/29/14) - The Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake will be closed tonight from 9 PM to 5 AM Tuesday morning.

The closure is to allow contractors to place concrete for Pier #8 as part of construction of the New Eggners Ferry Bridge.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says foundation work on the New Eggners Ferry Bridge will begin soon.

Last week, Johnson Brothers Construction notified the US Coast Guard that it's placing a construction flotilla on the water to start work on a pier near the east side of Kentucky Lake.

As a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet bid committee prepares to award the contract to replace the Eggner’s Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake, a protest filed against the low-bidding construction company has been rejected.
