A Fulton man is leading a fundraising campaign to replace the city’s aging train station. The town is home to far western Kentucky’s only Amtrak stop.

Volunteers with Fulton and South Fulton’s “Let’s Paint the Town” program are ready to begin the final summer of work. The community project began in May 2010 to revitalize the appearance of the Twin Cities to attract new businesses. Volunteers have met for two summers to restore buildings and plant landscaping.

Fulton resident Jeff Campbell has been involved with the project since it started. He says although progress revitalizing Fulton has been slow, the program has already seen some success.
