"Fun with Languages" partners with Murray State's Waterfield Library to offer Saturday morning language clubs for children in preschool to 8th grade. Participants may choose to learn French, Spanish, German, Japanese or Chinese. Kakehashi Project - U.S. Portion by Japan Foundation, Facebook

Murray State hosts 25 Kobe Gakuin students with the Youth Exchange Kakehashi Project, called 'The Bridge for Tomorrow,' through Saturday (November 9). Murray State students participated in the same program and visited Japan for 10 days as one of the seven representative US Universities accepted in the exchange this May. Calloway County High School Students also participated in a trip. Murray State Senior Lecturer of Japanese Yoko Hatakeyama speaks with Kate Lochte about how this opportunity evolved for the students. 

Japanese Consul-General Motohiko Kato will be leading a lecture and discussion at Murray State University today.

The Nashville based Kato will address Japan’s economic and political challenges and its strategic partnership with the United States.

The 4:30 p.m. event is in MSU's Freed Curd Auditorium and free and open to the public.

Iwami Kagura

As temperatures fall and the season begins to change from summer to autumn, harvest festivals around the northern hemisphere are starting to wind up. In Japan, one of the traditions for the fall is the Kagura dance.
