Murray State University President Dr. Bob Davies says the university's strategic plan process is in “the final stretch” and will be presented to the Board of Regents June 6.

Davies also discussed the institution’s reaction to a Murray State News article alleging difficulty for students reporting sexual assault to university officials and the review of reporting procedures.

Murray State University's Institute for International Studies hosts students from 57 countries for their undergraduate and graduate programs. On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte meets the Hichilema sisters, Chi Chi and Miyanda from Lusaka, Zambia, the capital of this south central African country. We'll learn about how they came to Murray State, what they think of Murray, their dreams after graduation and how to greet someone in the native language, Tonga.

Murray State University's Institute for International Studies recruits students to Murray State and addresses their needs, offers an English as a Second Language program, and manages the University's Education Abroad program. As of this Tuesday, Fall Enrollment counts 824 international students on campus: 468 in undergraduate programs, 344 in graduate programs. On Sounds Good, we meet one of the graduate students: David Song of Seoul, South Korea.

It's beginning to feel like a new semester at Murray State University. Faculty is returning to prepare lesson plans, students are moving back in to the residential colleges. Murray State Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay Morgan looks ahead to the new academic semester during Sounds Good and previews the "MSU 100" strategic plan to be unveiled soon.

November 12 through 15 is International Education Week nationwide. Murray State's Institute for International Studies has an extensive schedule of lectures, demonstrations, and discussions throughout the week, culminating in the Global Alumni Distinguished Lecture Series Thursday, November 15, 7 p.m. in the Curris Center Theatre.
