The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is restricting eastbound I-24 traffic in Christian County to one lane Tuesday, June 28th, through Thursday, June 30th. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Keith Todd says the interstate will be one lane starting at mile point 91. Workers will repair joints on the West Fork Red River Bridge during the restriction.

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane along a section of I-24 in Trigg and Christian Counties next week.

Update: The contractor working on a portion of the I-69 corridor in western Kentucky was unable to install a temporary barrier last night as planned on the eastbound lane of I-24 in Marshall county Tuesday due to weather. The installation is now scheduled for 8 p.m. June 1.

Motorists planning to drive Interstate 24 through Tennessee this weekend should be on the lookout for detours and slowdowns en route to Nashville.  

The Tennessee Department of Transportation will be replacing a bridge at Exit 8 near Clarksville.

Motorists traveling to Nashville via Interstate 24 this Saturday should be on the lookout for delays and slowing traffic.  

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says there will be a lane closure on I-24 eastbound at mile-marker 8 (Exit 8 to SR 237) to allow crews to work on bridge construction.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is seeking input on plans to construct a Double Crossover Diamond for U-S 60 at Interstate 24 in Paducah.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane on the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Metropolis, IL and Paducah starting Monday. Initially it will be for eastbound traffic only. Twenty bearings will be replaced. Tuesday morning, east- and westbound traffic will be stopped at each end of the bridge for 10 minutes between 5 and 6 a.m. This is to do prep work for the bearing replacement.

The I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Metropolis, Illinois and Paducah, Kentucky is down to one lane today as Illinois Department of Transportation road crews work to reinforce the bridge with new bearings. 

Message boards and signs will be in place to alert traffic of the closure.  

Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution through the area where workers are present.

Update 9:02pm

Westbound traffic on I-24 is now moving, eastbound still blocked by stalled semi. 

KYTC is reporting traffic backups on I-24 near exit 54 in Caldwell County. 

Two semi trucks running normal interstate speed attempted to exit into snow covered ramps and jackknifed. Road crews are working to clear the site as quickly as possible. 

KYTC urges all motorists to avoid unnecessary overnight travel and to be mindful of potential re-freezing due to extreme cold temperatures. 

Update: 3:49pm 

All eastbound and westbound lanes of I-24 are now open, but Kentucky road crews are still battling traffic obstructions.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says road conditions are still pretty rough, but traffic is now moving in both directions after coming to a standstill last night, stranding many travelers.

Commuters between Paducah and Metropolis could encounter slower passage over the I-24 Ohio River Bridge this week. The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin work Tuesday, taking place in both eastbound and westbound lanes causing daytime lane closures extending through Friday. IDOT spokesman Keith Miley says through traffic should seek alternate routes.
