The Hopkins County School Board has authorized the advertising of a 'bond anticipation note' in the tune of $6.7 million to fund construction of the new Career and Technology Center. The board approved the use of BANs Monday at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Fake Facebook Profile Causes Confusion for Hopkins County Parents

A fake account on the Hopkins County School System Facebook page confused some parents trying to get information about school closings Tuesday night. Community Engagement Specialist Lori Harrison is the administrator for the school’s page. Harrison says another account that looked similar to the official one posted inappropriate comments on the site.

Hopkins Co. Schools to Require ID Checks for All Visitors

While many school districts in the region have a sign in and sign out policy for visitors, at least one western Kentucky school district is tightening its security policy. In the wake of the Connecticut elementary school shooting, visitors to Hopkins County Schools will have to present a valid form of ID at the front office before getting a visitor’s pass.
