Arrest Made in Trigg County Quadruple Homicide

Kentucky State Police Detectives have charged 36-year-old Ryan Champion with the deaths of his mother, father, and sister. He is also being criminally charged with the death of Vito Riservato. State Police has been actively investigating the murders of Joy Champion, Lindsey Champion, Emily Champion and Vito Riservato since they were found at the Champion's residence in Cadiz on October 26th. Since that time, investigators have been gathering evidence and speaking to a number of people culminating enough probable cause for an arrest warrant. 

Homicides in Clarksville are on the rise, according to data from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Ten cases took place just this year, compared to eight (six in the city, two in Montgomery County) in 2013. This year's numbers come out to seven homicides per 100,000 people.

Former Caregiver Charged with Reckless Homicide

A former caregiver at a Medicaid-funded facility was charged with one count of reckless homicide by a Graves County jury. Alan Warner was caring for a resident at a Community Alternatives facility in Hickory, Kentucky when he allegedly failed to follow his training and improperly treated a resident who lost consciousness, eventually resulting in the resident’s death.

Clarksville police are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was discovered in the vicinity of Northwest High School parking lot yesterday morning.  The Clarksville Police Department said they believe 38-year-old Daniel Lamar Reed was shot and killed around 2 a.m. Thursday morning.  The CPD is asking for help to determine Reed's whereabouts before the shooting.  Police Sergeant Charles Gill said the department is confident the death isn't related to the high school's staff or students.


The Murray Police Department says a local woman faces murder charges in a shooting death on Oxford drive in the city's Canterbury Subdivision. Sergeant Dave Howe says police responded to a domestic disturbance call around 12:30 p.m. today. Howe says Michelle Baxter, 50, of Murray  is lodged at the Calloway County Jail.  The investigation is still ongoing.


Louisville Metro Police say they have no suspects in their investigation into a Derby weekend homicide on the Churchill Downs backside.
