Hold Thy Banner High

When it comes to depth of curriculum, breadth of research and impact on the state economy, the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville lead the way among public colleges in the Bluegrass State.

When it comes to investing donors’ dollars, though, leadership might be best found outside of the state’s money centers, in college towns like Bowling Green, Morehead and Murray.

In this month's conversation Dr. Dunn discusses his candidacy to be Missouri State University's next President, how the potential of searching for a new president and provost at the same time could affect Murray State, plus an update on work by budget planning and review teams to trim the MSU's budget.

Dr. Dunn also discusses his plans for an "extemporaneous" state of the university address and meeting the stretched $70m Hold Thy Banner high Goal.

Multiple teams of Murray State faculty and staff are in looking into many aspects of the university’s budget to find ways to make the institution more efficient and grow revenue.  MSU President Dr. Randy Dunn digs into the details of the budget prioritization teams and what this work will mean for the future of the university.
