Packaged Liquor Sales Start Soon in Murray

Package liquor sales could begin as early as next week in Murray. Earlier this week the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control issued the first packaged alcohol licenses for Murray liquor stores.

Beer sales see rapid growth in Murray

Package sales of beer are skyrocketing in Murray, according to one of the region's largest distributors. Golden Eagle Distributing transports all Anheuser-Busch Products in the Purchase area. The company is already having to extend its sales routes to almost triple the amount of locations. Company president Mark Meisenheimer  says the company has never seen this large an increase in sales and expects business will only keep growing.

Murray Wet Votes To Be Certified Friday

Votes for Murray's wet dry election could certified as early as Friday. The city voted to allow package alcohol sales this week, in a local option election.

Wet Wins in Murray; Marshall Stays Dry

The City of Murray and Marshall County held separate local option elections today. Murray, a city that allows liquor by the drink sales, asked residents to vote on whether or not to expand alcohol sales to allow package liquor. Marshall County residents voted on whether or not to allow alcohol sales in package stores and restaurants. 

Uncertified results are: Murray votes to go wet. Marshall County will stay dry.
