Maiden Alley's Oktoberfest is a Bavarian Celebration

Update: Since this interview, tonight's beer dinner has sold out and has been moved to Kirchhoff's Deli. 

A beer dinner tonight kicks off Paducah's 4th Annual Oktoberfest, which benefits Maiden Alley Cinema. The Paducah Jazz Ensemble Polka Band, Legendary Shack Shakers, The Hooten Hallers, Solid Rock'it Boosters and Gideon's Rifle furnish the tunes tomorrow, along with beer and a spread of Bavarian food. Maiden Alley's Landee Bryant-Greene joins us on Sounds Good with the details.

Immigration Reform Could Help Kentucky Economy

The study, “New Americans in Kentucky,” was published this week by the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy. It found that immigrants make up 3 percent of the state’s population, with one-in-five immigrants to Kentucky originating from Mexico. Kentucky’s immigrant population grew faster than all but six states from 2000 to 2012.
