This July 17th, Murray residents will head to the polls to decide whether or not the city should go wet. That is, whether to allow the sale of alcohol within the city limits. Murray’s current alcohol status could be described as “moist”, as restaurants can sell alcoholic beverages, by-the-drink with some restrictions. Gary Pitts looked into the upcoming vote to find out about possible outcomes.

GRANT EXPELLED THE JEWS 2-WAY -- Conflict and uncertainty can make life difficult for minorities in the United States.  As we’ve seen, events of the last decade have led some to be suspicious of American Moslems.  This isn’t new in our history.  During the U.S. Civil War, it was Jewish Americans who came under suspicion.  Adding to existing prejudices were broad accusations of trading with Confederates and undermining the Union.  Things came to a head in December 1862 when U.S. Major General, and future President, Ulysses S.

BILL CALL 2-WAY -- As severe weather struck our region this week many of you might have had weather radios alerting you of warnings to your county or the loud outdoor sirens you might be used to. This week, though as a Tornado Warning was issued for northern Calloway County residents in the storm’s path heard no out-door sirens, because there aren’t any.  WKMS’s Shelly Baskin speaks with Calloway County Emergency Management Director Bill Call to find out why. 

A group of Fort Campbell Soldiers preparing for a potential deployment to Afghanistan are taking extra time to learn Afghan customs to help them build rapport with key leaders in villages preyed upon by insurgents.  On this week's Front Page PM, we go through the training to hear from the Afghan Role Players and the soldiers.
