Structure on Fire in Kirksey

A fire has fully engulfed a structure on Norsworthy road near Kirksey, Kentucky. The Calloway County Sheriff’s office received a call about the fire around 1:30 this afternoon. The Fire and Rescue squad is on the scene. No further reports including any injuries are available.

Reward Offered in Bardwell Fire Inquiry

Bardwell city officials are offering a $2,000 dollar reward for information about a suspicious downtown weekend fire. The blaze occurred late Saturday night, burning down four abandoned buildings along Front Street and damaging others. 80 firefighters from eight rural cities responded to the fire.

Early Morning Fire Proves Fatal

A Mayfield house fire early yesterday morning has left two people dead and one hospitalized. Police say there wasn't a working fire alarm in the home when the blaze began. 19-year-old Allison Burnett and 22 year-old Deven Trull died in the fire. Another man at the home was pulled out by neighbors and taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. His name has not yet been released and his condition is not known.

South Fulton Adopts New Fire Subscription Service

Obion County Tennessee residents within 5 miles of South Fulton have a new subscription based fire service that helps ensure fire fighters respond to all fires. The change comes after the city faced scrutiny for not fighting fires at homes where the owner failed to pay the fee. City commissioners voted three to two Thursday night to approve the ordinance.

Bee Creek Soccer Complex Fire

Murray Police are investigating the cause of a fire at the Bee Creek Soccer Complex Monday night. Calloway County Fire officials say the fire destroyed the complex’s concession and storage building. They believe the fire was not accidental. The blaze destroyed approximately 50,000 dollars worth of equipment. Murray Soccer Association President Steve Wilhelm says despite the damages the program will stay on schedule. Registration for the spring season begins February 11 at the Chamber of Commerce.
