Dry conditions in Illinois have meant headaches for many farmers in the state, but not those growing peaches.  

County burn bans across the region have outlawed amateur fireworks displays and that hurts the bottom line for many fireworks vendors.

The combination of high heat and inconsistent rainfall is hurting many crops in Kentucky including one of the more recent additions to the state’s agriculture industry. 

The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area has banned open fires due to prolonged high heat and dry conditions in the region.  

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will waive special registration and permit requirements for vehicles carrying drought relief supplies such as water and livestock forage to stricken areas.

Western Kentucky’s corn and soybean crops have taken a turn for the worse. Statewide crop-reporting says one-fourth of the corn crop is in poor condition, and another third is fair.
