MSU Presidential Contract Review Committee Sets Goals and Now Unsure on Closed Meeting

A Murray State Board of Regents Ad Hoc committee will gather data under four headings to review President Randy Dunn’s contract.  Board Chairman Dr. Constantine Curris met with Vice-Chair Marilyn Buchanon, and Finance Committee Chair Stephen Williams in Louisville today.

The four subjects the committee intend to evaluate include: the university’s progress during the last five years, statements and resolutions of support or criticism, presidential and board relationships and contract provisions.

MSU President 'Confused' about Ad-Hoc Committee's Closed Door Meeting Plans

Murray State University’s President says he's confused about an ad-hoc committee's planned closed door meeting about his contract.  Randy Dunn's current contract expires in June of 2014, and requires the university's Board of Regents to act on his contract one year before expiration. The board voted to create the ad-hoc committee in December.

January Monthly Chat: Dunn Unclear on Contract Committee's Work and Proposed Closed Meetings

In this month’s conversation, among other topics, Dr. Dunn discusses Murray State's Board of Regents’ newly created ad-hoc committee to review his contract. The committee consists of Regents Marilyn Buchanon, Stephen Williams and Board Chairman Dr. Constantine “Deno” Curris.  The board formed the committee as questions surrounded Dunn’s future at MSU. Dunn’s contract expires in June of 2014. He also underwent a comprehensive employment review in 2012.

Dunn Withdraws From Missouri State's Search for New President

Ahead of a Monday night Board of Governor's meeting to decide on a new president of Missouri State University, Murray State President Dr. Randy Dunn has self-selected out of the running for that post. In an emailed statement Dr. Dunn cites his love for Murray and Missouri State's affinity to it's internal candidate Clif Smart, as reasons for withdrawing. Smart currently serves as Missouri State's interim president, he also served as the university's general counsel. The University hosted both Dunn and Smart last week for on-site interviews.

Missouri State Board Might Decide On New President Tonight

Missouri State University’s Board of Governors meets tonight in a closed session in Springfield where they might select a new university President.  5th year Murray State President Randy Dunn and Missouri State interim President Clif Smart are the two finalists for the position.

MSU President Dr. Dunn Finalist in Search for New Missouri State President

Murray State University President Dr. Randy Dunn is one of two finalists in Missouri State University’s search for a new president.

The other finalist is former Missouri State general counsel and current interim president Clifton Smart III. Dunn has served as Murray State's President since 2006. Missouri State's website indicates campus interviews for the candidates are scheduled for the week of October 7th.
