  Kentucky Senate Democrats have re-elected two of their top leaders and elected a western Kentucky senator as caucus chair.

Dorsey Ridley of Henderson was elected as caucus chairman, replacing Gerald Neal of Louisville.

The filing deadline for Kentucky’s May primary elections is just over a week away, and no prominent Democrats have signed up to challenge any of the state’s five Republican congressmen. Likewise, Rand Paul has no high-profile challengers for his seat in the U.S. Senate.

  Despite outpacing Republicans in fundraising, Democrats running for statewide office in Kentucky are still in tight races.
