Christian Co. Gets Grant to Help Implement Common Core

Christian County Public Schools is among the eighteen districts across the state to win an Instructional Transformation Grant from the Kentucky Department of Education.  CCPS will receive $100,000 annually over three years to help teachers implement the Common Core Academic Standards.

Hopkinsville High School Selects New Principal

A Jefferson County middle school principal is the new Hopkinsville High School principal. 

24-year education veteran Curtis Higgins is currently the assistant principal at Myers Middle School but will take up principal duties at the start of this school year.

Christian County Board of Education Votes to Keep Lacy Elementary Open

Lacy Elementary in Hopkinsville will remain open for now.

The Christian County Board of Education voted 3-2 at a meeting Tuesday night in favor of keeping the school open. Lacy's closure would have been the first phase of a redistricting plan that would see four different Christian County elementary schools closed and bundled together.
