It's 3 a.m. and Whiskers has decided it's time for breakfast. He jumps up on your bed, gently paws at your eyelids and meows to be fed. Annoyed? Cat behavior specialist Sarah Ellis says you have only yourself to blame.

Ellis says that cat owners reinforce negative behaviors when they give in to them. "Cats are not necessarily born meowing and screaming at us for food, it's a behavior that they learned," Ellis tells Fresh Air's Terry Gross.

  The first thing people noticed was the name.

A Louisville resident named Limberbutt McCubbins had apparently filed to run for president, gaining attention in recent months from a campaign watchdog and, most recently, The Rachel Maddow Show.

No matter what the market's doing, a certain breed of entrepreneur tends to come out on top — or should we say, breeds? Domestic short hair, Persian, Siamese — if you have the right breed of cat, or at least one with a certain look, you may be feeding kitty treats to a potential gold mine.

Lexington firefighters will soon learn how to help some unique patients suffering from smoke inhalation or other trauma.

Veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Carl-Howard showed firefighters Wednesday how to use oxygen masks designed for dogs, cats, and other small animals.

The new equipment was donated to the fire department from the Lexington Kennel Club.

Cat Comes Back to Local Dealership

A local Chevrolet & Toyota dealership in Murray has its cat back. Receptionist Emily Bebout says one-year-old Winston was returned to Dwain Taylor Chevrolet and Toyota last week. The company took out an add in the local newspaper early last week asking for help finding the showroom cat.
