Poets & Writers magazine ranked Murray State's MFA Program the 7th best low-residency program in the nation in 2013. The program is now in its 10th year and to celebrate, special events held this summer include a recent alumni celebration with readings and workshops and a day dedicated to regional writers this Wednesday. Associate Director of the program Carrie Jerrell speaks with Kate Lochte on Sounds Good about the events.

Murray State University Professor of English Carrie Jerrell has received an Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council. She is one of six writers chosen for demonstrating a high level of excellence and creativity in their literary ares careers. On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte speaks with Jerrell, reading form her newest work.
