CPB: Report on Alternative Sources of Funding for Public Broadcasting

Report language accompanying the final FY 2012 Appropriations legislation asked the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to provide a report on alternative sources of funding for public broadcasting stations in lieu of federal funding.  The report was due within 180 days of enactment of the Act to the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations.

Two Northwest Tennessee Counties Among Highless Jobless Numbers for May

Obion County posted Tennessee's second highest May unemployment rate at 14.2 percent.  Unemployment in Weakley County was also among the state’s highest, at 11.4 percent.

Jobless Rate Drops in Most Counties but Rises Statewide

Jobless rates have improved in 107 Kentucky counties, but not Jefferson. 

The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training released the latest unemployment numbers today. They show Jefferson County's jobless rate jumping from 8.1 percent in April to 8.6 percent in May. Most counties in the Louisville area saw similar increases.

Last May, the Jefferson County unemployment rate was 9.9 percent.
