Lawsuit Filed Against Chuck Jones Alleges Counterfeiting Textbooks

A lawsuit filed in US District court against Murray businessman Chuck Jones and several of his associates and businesses alleges Jones used companies he owned to infringe the copyrights of several textbook publishers.

McGraw-Hill and Pearson Educations allege Jones and his associates produced counterfeit covers for international editions of their textbooks, allowing him to sell and rent them as US editions for a significant profit.

CBR Files Restraining Order against Owner Chuck Jones

College Book Rental Company, a company owned and until recently, managed by Murray businessman Chuck Jones has filed a restraining order against Jones. In late August, Jones relinquished control of the company to Nashville based consultant Myles MacDonald as part of a settlement with his business partner.

Hopkins County Magistrates Side with Union in Patriot Coal Bankruptcy Case

Three Hopkins County magistrates have aligned themselves with a union’s effort to move a coal company's bankruptcy case to a coal producing region despite legal advice to stay out of the matter. In July, Patriot Coal filed for bankruptcy in New York – an area far from coal producing regions.
