Heavy Snowfall Expected with Christmas Blizzard (8 AM UPDATE)

NOTE: Information on the blizzard is changing as the storm system approaches. Visit the National Weather Service for updated information.

Snow will continue to fall this morning with some areas in Illinois receiving up to a foot. Kentucky and Tennessee has received between 2 and 7 inches of snow.

Light now is expected to continue into the afternoon.

KYTC Prepares for Winter Storm

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews are geared up to respond to a Christmas night snowstorm that is expected to create travel issues overnight on Tuesday and through the day on Wednesday.

Before they left work on Friday, KYTC crews across Western Kentucky fueled their trucks, loaded them with salt, and mounted snow plows so they can be prepared to roll out as quickly as possible as the storm develops.

National Weather Service Predicts 'Crippling' Winter Storm

The National Weather Service's total snowfall prediction for the next 30 hours as of Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Paducah is predicting a major winter storm Christmas night. NWS forecasters upgraded a winter storm watch to a blizzard watch this afternoon.
