A former football standout from Western Kentucky University has pleaded not guilty to assault and other charges stemming from an altercation outside a club in Bowling Green. Tyler Higbee made a brief appearance in Warren Circuit Court Thursday for arraignment.

Clarksville City councilman David Allen has leveled charges against fellow councilman James Lewis following a heated dispute at a budget meeting last week. The charges include simple assault and a restraining order.

A judge today sentenced former South Marshall Middle School principal Kent Barlow to serve 10 years in prison. Barlow pled guilty earlier this month to three charges stemming from an attack on his former girlfriend. Marshall County Circuit Judge Dennis Foust gave Barlow five years for both first degree wanton endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.

UT Martin Student Arrested Before Planned Assault

A former University of Tennessee at Martin student was arrested Tuesday night near the Boling University Center before a planned assault could be carried out against a former girlfriend and her male friend.

South Marshall Middle School Principal Ken Barlow was arrested yesterday at his lawyer's office in Paducah. Barlow was previously tried in 2007 on charges of molesting a 6-year-old boy, but was acquitted.
