KWW Hosts Region's Largest Arts & Crafts Festival Labor Day Weekend

A family driving through our region stops and asks "Is there anything to do here?" This is a common question from visitors at the office of Kentucky's Western Waterland, off I-24, Exit 31 in Grand Rivers. Director Sandy Davis says KWW has been introducing tourists since 1969, operating over 25 public brochure racks in the 15-county region and publishing 95,000 maps and facilities guides annually. She speaks with Kate Lochte on Sounds Good about KWW and the upcoming Arts & Crafts Festival on Labor Day Weekend in Grand Rivers, the largest and longest-running in the region.

From Drawing to Metalsmithing, Murray State's Summer Art Workshop

Nicole Hand directs the Murray State Summer Art Workshop that is for freshman-seniors, June 8-13. The workshop has been going since the 1980's and this is Dale Leys 30th year teaching drawing in the workshop. Nicole and her husband Jim Bryant also run a website called Murray Kid, as well as a Facebook page of children's events activities in the Murray area. Kate Lochte speaks with Hand on Sounds Good about the art workshop and her work with Murray Kid.

Hobby Lobby Files Lawsuit Over "Morning After" Pill

The Hobby Lobby retail chain has filed suit against the federal government over a provision of the new healthcare law that requires companies to provide coverage for the morning after pill. Company founders say they base their business on biblical principles and maintain the Obama administration shouldn't be able to force them to provide coverage that "violates their own faith."
