Webb-Edgington Gets Support of Anti-Abortion Group

May 9, 2012

Republican congressional candidate Alecia Webb-Edgington has been endorsed by the political arm of the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List in Kentucky's 4th District primary. Such endorsements matter in the conservative district where seven Republicans are vying for the nomination in the May 22nd primary.

A national conservative organization has thrown its support behind Thomas Massie in Kentucky’'s Fourth Congressional District GOP Primary.

The Club for Growth announced its endorsement today, saying members believe Massie would best emulate U.S. Senator Rand Paul, one of the organizations most-loved lawmakers.

The club has not announced any plans for further involvement in the primary, but officials say they could send money to Massie if the race looks close, and the club may run TV ads if necessary.

As primary campaigns in Kentucky warm up, the highest-profile one is turning into a responsibility blame game.

State Representative Alecia Webb-Edgington is six Republicans vying to replace outgoing Fourth Congressional District Congressman Geoff Davis.

And one of her opponents, Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore, is criticizing Webb-Edgington for missing crucial votes on the state budget last week.
