Sounds Good

11 am - 1 pm Weekdays

About The Show

The music on Sounds Good is a mix of legacy artists who are still making great music now (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt) deep cuts from classic artists (The Band, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, REM) great contemporary artists who don' t receive commercial airplay (Neko Case, Wilco, Jack White, Darrell Scott, The Black Keys) and those who defy the boundaries of categorization (Punch Brothers, Bela Fleck, Ry Cooder, Bill Frisell, Justin Townes Earle). You'll also get a bit of World music, Blues, Soul/R&B, Reggae and Jazz.

Additionally, you'll hear interviews with newsmakers and community leaders, live music from some of our region's best musicians, our community events calendar and more.

Good Read: The White Bicycle by Beverly Brenna

We continue our occasional series previewing good reads for young adults from Katherine Farmer, Coordinator of the Racers Children's Preview Collection at Murray State University. This week's recommended read is The White Bicycle, by Beverly Brenna, a 2013 Printz Honor coming-of-age adventure told from the perspective of Taylor Jane, a young woman with Asperger's Syndrome. Booklist calls this story, for ages 14 to 17, a "finespun gem" that would be "a shame" to miss.

Puppies Sound Good: Meet Hunter

Hunter came up to make his radio debut today! He's a playful and energetic Labrador puppy. He loved meeting everyone at the station and was very curious to find snug hiding spots underneath chairs and tables even though he's bigger than he thinks. When we brought him into the studio, he climbed into his foster mom's lap and went right to sleep! We think he'd be a great fit for a family with kids and plenty of energy. Here's more information about Hunter on petfinder.com
