About The Show

The music on Sounds Good is a mix of legacy artists who are still making great music now (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt) deep cuts from classic artists (The Band, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, REM) great contemporary artists who don' t receive commercial airplay (Neko Case, Wilco, Jack White, Darrell Scott, The Black Keys) and those who defy the boundaries of categorization (Punch Brothers, Bela Fleck, Ry Cooder, Bill Frisell, Justin Townes Earle). You'll also get a bit of World music, Blues, Soul/R&B, Reggae and Jazz.

Additionally, you'll hear interviews with newsmakers and community leaders, live music from some of our region's best musicians, our community events calendar and more.

From the Garden Gate: The Garden Museum in London

Roy Helton divides his time between teaching in the English Department at Murray State University and indulging his passion for gardening. In this edition of "From the Garden Gate," Roy talks about his visit to The Garden Museum in London.

The Garden Museum in London

Whenever I teach in England as I did for a month this summer, I always feel as if I’m in a kind of gardeners’ heaven.  This summer I got a chance to visit a museum devoted entirely to gardening.  Located across the River Thames from the Houses of Parliament, the Garden History Museum is housed in the rescued and restored medieval church of St Mary-at-Lambeth.

Peel & Holland on The Affordable Care Act Part 3

Heather Elliot of Peel & Holland in Benton and Murray joins Kate Lochte on Sounds Good. They walk through the third of a three part series on changes we're looking at with the implementation of The Affordable Care Act.

This conversation begins with the question, "It's happening... What do I do?"

What about people whose work has employees travel beyond the coverage areas specified in their plans? Also, what about early renewal options? Peel & Holland has compiled comprehensive information on what that entails for families and businesses on their website. Click here to read more.

UT Martin Presents ECHO 360 Webinar on Active Learning Online

Active learning online is a buzz phrase for getting faculty lectures to students before they come to class, so the class can be an engagement center for students asking about lectures they've already heard, and presumably studied.  University of Tennessee at Martin instructional technology designer Harriette Spiegel is involved in an ECHO 360 webinar open to all, free, this Thursday at 1 p.m.  It is targeted specifically to supporting STEM classrooms.
