WKCTC Unveils Presidential Finalists

There are four finalists in the search for president of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. 

Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Jay Box unveiled the list Thursday.  

The chosen finalist replaces Barbara Veazey, who retired last month and had served as President since the college’s inception in 2002.  CharlesCrestmancurrently serves in the interim

The list includes

  • Dr. Perrin Alford, provost/COO at West Georgia Technical College in Carrolton, GA
  • Dr. Anthony Cruz, vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH
  • Dr. Diana Nyhammer, Vice President of Learning at Blackhawk Techincal College in Janesville, WI 
  • Dr. Anton Reece, associate vice provost for academic affairs and director of the Student Success Center at the University of Tennessee Knoxville 

The candidates are scheduled for on-campus visits and public forums next month.  Alford and Cruz visit August 18th, Nyhammer and Reece on the 19th. At that time they will meet with WKCTC faculty, staff and students and the board of directors.  
Public community forums will be held at Crouse Hall. Student/faculty/staff forums at the Clemens Student and Fine Arts Center. 

The new head is expected to be named by Oct. 1. 

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
