Murray, KY – Dozens of Calloway County Republicans turned out last night to support Kentucky Senator Ken Winters's re-election bid. They weren't disappointed as Winters swept his opponent in the first district, Carroll Hubbard, by about four thousand votes. Vice President of the Murray State University College Republicans Caroline Cash was one of the volunteers who helped on Winters's campaign.
I'm absolutely astounded by his win. Y'know, I knew he was the right man for the job, but Carroll Hubbard is known for his campaigning, but I am so happy that Ken Winters came out on top.
Gary Taylor of Hazel says he supported Winters because of the senator's conservative social positions and his support of Western Kentucky. Winters says he looks forward to continuing the progress he's made over the last four years in Frankfort.
