Winter Weather Advisory

By Todd Hatton

Murray, KY – A winter weather advisory is in effect until 3pm today. Snow in our area will end around midday. Accumulation in most counties is running around just over an inch with up to 3 inches forecast. Temperatures will remain well below freezing, keeping snow on the ground. That, along with strong northwest winds blowing snow will likely make travel hazardous, so motorists are encouraged to use caution on the roads. Busy routes such as parkways and interstates are clear in the driving lane with partial coverage in the passing lane. The snow and another surge of arctic air in the system's wake will drive temperatures into the single digits to near zero Friday and Saturday night. Winds may push wind chill readings to around zero to ten below later this week.
