Wickliffe Mounds Promotes Tourism with New Signage

Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site is working to promote tourism with four new billboards, which provide visitors with directional, interpretive, and historical information.

With funding from the Federal Highway Administration, the Kentucky Great River Road Region Organization partnered with Wickliffe Mounds, the state Department of Tourism and the Transportation Cabinet to replace the older faded and torn signs. Wickliffe Mounds Park manager Carla Hildebrand said in a release that the billboards “present a fresh new aesthetic… that reflects Kentucky’s modernity” but also the state’s rich history and culture.

The signs are part of a branding program for the Kentucky Great River Road National Scenic Byway.
