Whitaker campaigns for Nesler's seat

Murray, KY – Graves County Board of Education member Kelly Whitaker says she is entering the race for Kentucky's 2nd District State House seat, currently held by retiring Representative Fred Nesler. The Paducah Sun reports Whitaker will run on the Democratic ticket. The Lowes pharmacist says she considers herself an educational activist. She has served on Graves County's board of education since 2010. Governor Steve Beshear recently selected Whitaker to serve on a statewide council concerning prescription drug misuse.
