West Tenn. attorney goes after Fincher

By Jacque Day

Tenn. 8th Congressional District – West Tennessee attorney Huston Gordon has drafted a request to the federal prosecutor's office in Memphis asking for an expedited investigation of U.S. Congressional candidate Stephen Fincher's finances. The letter, dated Tuesday, accuses Fincher of misrepresenting a $250,000 campaign contribution and failing to provide a truthful account of his finances. It also states, the Republican candidate for Tennessee's 8th district failed to disclose between $416,000 and $1.1 million in personal liabilities. Gordon is the former Chairman of the Tennessee state Democratic Party. The Fincher campaign calls the letter a Democratic tactic. Recent polls show Fincher in a double-digit lead against contender Roy Herron.
