Three communities in far west Kentucky are getting a portion of $3.6 million in grant funding for emergency call center upgrades.
The state 911 Services Board and Office of Homeland Security said on Tuesday that $70,000 will go to the Calloway County Fiscal Court E-911 to replace the outdated VIPER radio system.
Some $175,000 will go towards upgrades at the Allie Morgan 911 Center in Paducah.
And $70,000 will go towards The Trigg County Fiscal Court to purchase a new phone system and software.
Muhlenberg and Todd Counties are also grant recipients.
