Weather warnings issued for all of Kentucky
By Northcutt
Murray, KY – Highway crews are pre-treating many roads in the area in preparation for what weather forecasters are calling a major winter storm. The majority of the 4 rivers region will be under winter or ice storm warnings beginning at 6 p.m. tonight through midnight Tuesday. Forecasters expect two rounds of freezing rain and sleet, the first beginning tonight. Total ice and sleet accumulations could total two and a half inches. Kentucky Department of Highways spokesman Keith Todd says that apart from slick roads tonight and tomorrow, motorist should be on the look out for downed trees and power lines over the next several days.
