UT Martin Receives $2 Million Grant

UT Martin

The University of Tennessee at Martin has received a nearly $2 million-dollar US Department of Education grant aid in student advising and its veterinary science program.

The 1.9 million-dollar award will be spread out over the next five years, The grant comes through what’s known as the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program.

UT Martin Provost Jerald Ogg says the money will help foster new activities while protecting old ones in the face of continual budget cuts.

“This Title III program is especially helpful in that it enables us to think innovatively and to implement new initiatives without fear of undercutting resources from existing programs and services," Ogg said.

This is the second time UT Martin has received such a grant in the last decade.

The university will first receive funds this month, followed by further allocations through September 2019.
