The United States Postal Service is opening on Sundays in six Kentuckiana locations - however none in our immediate listening area.

The USPS is opening on two Sundays, Dec. 14 and 21, to help customers avoid long lines and get a jump on early bird shipping.

"It's that time of year again but there's no need to stress about the holidays this season," said Elizabeth Schaefer, Kentuckiana District Manager. "We are making it easier for our customers to send their greeting cards and packages by being open on Sunday at select locations."

The following Post Office retail locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 21:

  • Bowling Green General Mail Facility, 5300 Scottsville Road, KY
  • Clarksville Indiana Station, 757 E. Lewis & Clark Parkway, IN
  • Evansville Indiana Lawndale Station, 802 S. Green River Road, IN
  • Lexington Bluegrass Station, 3525 Lansdowne Drive, KY
  • Louisville Okolona Station, 7400 Jefferson Blvd., KY
  • Louisville St. Matthews Station, 4600 Shelbyville Road, KY

Monday, Dec. 15 is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the season for cards, letters and packages with more than 607 million pieces of mail will be processed nationwide.
Post offices across the nation will be open on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24, and New Year's Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 31 until noon.

All post offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.
