U.S. Soldier Arrested In Connection To Murray Shooting

Murray Police Department

U.S. Marshals arrested a U.S. Army soldier Tuesday for the shooting of a former Murray State University student two months ago.

Kendarian Jennings survived after being shot in the head in a Welch Court parking lot in Murray on February 20th. Murray police presented information to District Court Judge Randy Hutchens who issued a warrant on April 13 for the arrest of 20-year-old Monyea Williams.

Marshals apprehended Williams this week at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where he is stationed. Williams was taken to the Pulaski County Jail in Missouri on charges of 1st Degree Assault, a class B Felony.

The Kentucky Commonwealth Attorney’s Office has signed for extradition to have Williams brought back to Kentucky to face the charge.
