George Flinn conceded the 8th District US House primary race to George Kustoff, winning by just nearly 4 percent.

Republican Tim Wirgau also wins his primary with nearly 60 percent of the vote against James Poe for the State House District 75.

Donnie Walton has been elected Obion County commissioner, and a Republican incumbent has won his primary. Mark Green will face Democrat David Cutting in November for the District 22 Tennessee Senate seat.

The Republican 8th District primary shows two leaders: David Kustoff and George Flinn with more than half of the district's precincts reporting. Kustoff has less than a 1 percent lead over Flinn.

Though several precincts have not yet reported their results, the state Senate 22nd District Republican incumbent Mark Green will take his primary, with more than 80 percent of the vote.

As election results roll in, George Flinn is leading the packed US House District 8 race for the Republican Party with nearly 29 percent of the vote. Meanwhile, Rickey Hobson leads the Democratic primary for that race with 51 percent against his sole opponent Gregory Frye.

A winner has been named for the Stewart County Commissioner race, with Howard Jobe taking the position with nearly 65 percent of the vote.

Tennessee’s State Primary and County General Election is Thursday, Aug. 4.

There are 13 candidates running for the Republican nomination to succeed 8th District U.S. Congressman Stephen Fincher. The 8th district covers the majority of west TN including Weakley, Obion, and Henry counties. Two democratic candidates are also in the running for the seat.

Tennessee's 75th house district is currently represented by Republican Tim Wirgau who will face James Poe in the primary election. Republican Senator Mark Green currently represents Tennessee 22nd District and is opposed by Lori Smith.

Other races include County Commissioners for Stewart and Obion County.

Polls for the general election close at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8.
