(Update) KSP Investigating Inmate Death at Kentucky State Penitentiary

Update: Kentucky State Police report that an autopsy at the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville has found that the only signs of trauma appear to have been self-inflicted. Blood tests are pending. An official determination of death will follow the blood test results.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville. 

Lyon County Ambulance Service responded to a call to police that 39-year-old Marcus Penman of Hopkinsville was reportedly not breathing.

The ambulance service upon arrival requested the coroner be notified. Lyon County Deputy Coroner Sheena Snow pronounced Penman dead at the scene.

KSP is investigating the death.
