Union County Suffers Second Multi-Fatality Home Fire Within a Week

Public Domain, Wikimedia Commons

A mobile home fire has claimed the lives of a father and son in Union County.

68-year-old Charles Shockley and his son, 41-year-old Jesse Shockley, died Tuesday morning at their home in Uniontown.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but authorities say so far nothing indicates arson or anything suspicious.

It’s the second residential fire within a week that has led to multiple fatalities in Union County.

A house fire last Friday in Morganfield took the lives of four people.

The cause of that fire is also still under investigation.
