Union City Police Respond to Victim with Gunshot Wounds in Church

Union City police responded to a shooting outside a church Wednesday afternoon. Officers found 23-year-old Kierra Lee’Shee Moses inside Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church suffering from at least two gunshot wounds. 

She was transported by EMS and airlifted to Memphis. According to witnesses the shooting occurred at or near the intersection of North Home and College Streets. She then ran into the church.

The shooter was identified as 19-year-old Bronzie Johnson Jr. The shooter was located and placed under arrest. The handgun believed to be the weapon was also recovered.

Johnson is charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Reckless Endangerment and will be arraigned Thursday in Obion County General Sessions Court.

An investigation is ongoing.
