Unemployment rates fell in every Kentucky county between April 2017 and April 2018. That’s according to the latest data from the Kentucky Center for Education and Workforce Statistics released on Thursday.

The April unemployment rates in the Purchase and Pennyrile are 4.8% and 4.6%, respectively.

The highest rate in the west Kentucky region is in Livingston County at 6.9% followed by Ballard at 6.8%. The lowest rate is in Calloway at 3.4% followed by Todd at 3.5%.

Woodford County has the lowest unemployment rate in the commonwealth at 2.7%. Magoffin County has the highest at 11.9%. The statewide unemployment rate in April was 3.9%

The data does not include unemployed Kentuckians who have not looked for unemployment within the past four weeks.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national unemployment rate in April was 3.9%.
