McCracken County Sheriff's Department has made five arrests connected to prostitution and illegal drug activity. According to a news release, detectives located individuals who had posted online 'escort' ads on backpage.com. Acting undercover, agents found several women who agreed to meet in the Paducah area to provide sexual acts for money.

On September 8, agents arrested 35-year-old Danette Watson of Hopkinsville who arrived in Paducah with 35-year-old Jermine Sydnor also of Hopkinsville to meet with an agent acting undercover. Watson admitted to posting the ad online and said Sydnor benefited from her activity. He was also in possession of Marijuana.

On September 19, 23-year-old Sarah Taber of Paducah entered an agreement for a sexual act for money with an undercover agent and was arrested. She had also been arrested last April and pled guilty to prostitution.

On September 20, 38-year-old Jamie Pritchard of Old Hickory, Tennessee, was driven into Paducah by 41-year-old Edward Godsey of Ashland City, Tennessee. Detectives also seized heroin out of Godsey's vehicle. He said he had been using the drug for the past five years.

On September 22, 41-year-old Sandy Johnson of Goreville, Illinois, arrived at a predetermined location and discussed sexual acts and money amounts with an agent. She was taken into custody and acknowledged that she had been prostituting herself for several months.

The Sheriff's office said several other individuals were contacted and involved in this illegal activity, however detectives don't yet have enough probable cause to charge them. The investigation continues and the office says additional charges or arrests are likely.
