Two Counties Lose Power from TVA

Murray, KY – At 9:45 this morning Calloway County, parts of Marshall, the city of Murray and Murray State University experienced a wide-spread power outage. The outage lasted about forty-five minutes. A Paducah power spokesperson noticed a dip in the power on their Tennessee Valley Authority monitoring line. TVA spokesman Scott Brooks says the cause was a down line near English Road in Marshall County. The line connects two substations on the Marshall-Mayfield system. In order to restore power, TVA has rerouted power from other lines to parts of each county.
