Knoxville, TN – Tennessee Valley Authority customers will see a reduction in their electric bills this July. TVA will cut wholesale rates 4.1 percent, a decrease of between two and five dollars on the average bill. But rates this summer are still three percent higher than the same time last year. Even with two reductions in the past six months, TVA continues to adjust rates following a massive fuel cost hike last October. Spokesman Jim Allen says TVA can reduce rates because fuel expenses have gone down and customers are cutting their usage.
