Kingston, TN – The Tennessee Valley Authority's top executive says he can't guarantees there won't be a repeat of a disastrous coal ash spill like the one in Kingston, Tennessee a year ago. Tom Kilgore says the company is eliminating all wet ash and gypsum [JIP-sum] storage and converting all of TVA's coal-fired plants to dry storage. These measures are part of a plan to keep incidents like the Kingston spill from happening again. TVA operates several coal ash storage facilities in western Kentucky.
