Cadiz, KY – An individual precinct in Trigg County has collected enough verified signatures to petition alcohol sales there. The Montgomery precinct just north of Cadiz has collected 151 signatures, well over the 104 needed. What happens next is unclear and may need a court to work out the details. The Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and the State Board of Elections differ in their opinions on whether an individual precinct can go wet or dry. The Paducah Sun reports Trigg Judge-Executive Stan Humphries has asked the County Attorney to seek a declaratory judgment in circuit court.
