Eddyville, KY – A group of 40 to 50 travel writers is expected to generate a significant tourism boom when they visit the region next year. Organizers for the Association of Great Lakes Outdoors Writers (AGLOW) are in Lyon County today touring the area ahead of next April's Spring Mega Media Event. Lake Barkley Tourism Commission Executive Director Jamie Johnson says Kentucky beat out seventeen other states with their bid. Johnson says the writers will visit tourist locations and publish articles on them in national magazines or produce television spots. This is the first time since the 1970's that AGLOW has held a media event in western Kentucky.
